Dear Food Diary 02-08-17

Breakfast, 9:30 a.m.

I ordered some gluten-free sourdough from Bread Srsly so I could indulge in my all-time favorite breakfast: avocado toast!  I just mash an avocado with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes, then top it with some black forest ham and over-medium eggs.  Crazy satisfying.


Lunch, 2:00 p.m.

I wanted a quick lunch before heading to work (I’d been running errands all day), so I heated up Amy’s Chinese Noodles & Veggies.   I like the high veggie content in this particular entree, and since it is all tossed in cashew sauce, it’s like a really, really healthy cousin to Springfield’s famous Cashew Chicken!  (ok that’s a stretch, but it’s tasty in its own right)


Snack, 5 p.m.

I gave a 2 hour massage from 6-8 p.m. and wanted to make sure my stomach didn’t start growling, so a snack was in order!


Dinner, 8:30 p.m.

Wednesday was super chilly and I wanted some warm, comforting food for dinner.  I was thrilled that the Slow Cooker Kielbasa and White Bean Cassoulet was so quick and easy to throw together….and I got to use that gluten-free sourdough again for the croutons!


Was this a paleo or primal-compliant day?  Absolutely not!  I consumed oats, beans, and soy.  But I would argue this was a perfectly healthy day.  Remember, don’t let dogma get you down, and don’t let perfect be the enemy of good.
